Feeling a bit Anxious and Ungrounded?


Aren’t we all? Right now there is chaos surrounding us in the world and in our country, as well as (for many) in our personal and daily lives. These can be challenging times! In the practice of Ayurveda, we heal by balancing opposites. When we are feeling anxious and ungrounded, this is related to Vata - the elements of Air and Ether. And even though it’s Pitta Season - the element of Fire, this “heat” can result in pushing Vata further out of balance. So in this moment, we can HEAL with the Earth element. See my suggestions below to help you feel at your best!

This is the Medicine for RIGHT NOW

Pick ONE of these and add it to your schedule, then commit!

(in no particular order)

  • Drink a Calming Tea during the day or before bed, such as Halcyon Days or Halcyon Dreams from Parsley Thyme Herbs

  • Establish a consistent daily! bedtime (and therefore wake time)

  • Establish a more consistent routine in your daily life

  • Abhyanga (self oil massage) daily or weekly! (see Abhyanga benefits and description here)

  • Walk or Spend Time in nature daily!

  • Cook your favorite meal

  • Physical Yoga Practice focusing on Standing/Balancing Asanas, Restorative Asanas, and Seated/Grounding Asanas daily or a few times/week!

  • Spiritual Practice daily!

  • Pranayama (breath/energy practice) daily!

  • Meditation daily!

  • Strength Train/Lift Weights a few times/week!

  • Incorporate more warm, grounding foods into your current meals - include seasonal vegetables daily!

  • Remove or lessen cold and dry foods and snacks daily!

  • Schedule a Therapy, Mental Health, or Jyotisha (see my offering here) session

  • Schedule your favorite Relaxation Therapy (or try something new!), such as: Sound Bath (see offering below or on our site), Traditional Restorative Yoga Class, Relaxation Session (see my offering here), Float, Salt Cave, Relaxing Massage (as noted above)

    Note that I said pick one :-) You might be excited and want to do many of the these things. If you try to conquer too much, and ultimately fail, that will definitely push your Vata further out of balance. Trust me ;-)
