How Yoga Changed My Life - Katelyn
As a type A person, a mix of Vata and Pitta, I get stressed easily. Actually I maintain a constant level of stress. Yoga helps to challenge me to be still and quiet. No matter the style, whether it is Hot yoga, Restorative Yoga, or "Plain Jane" yoga it helps me to take the time from my busy day and just be in the present moment, not stressing or worrying. As I teach and provide therapy to students and patients, I tend to "pour out" everything I have for their healing. As I practice my own yoga, I am able to take time for myself with some self-compassion and self-care, allowing myself to be "poured into".
Yoga has been the thing to keep me balanced and detoxified. I can't imagine what I would be like without this outlet. -Katelyn Carpenter
